Butterfly Foundation is an organization established by propelled by women. This is ‘not for profit’, secular and voluntary organization for promoting gender equity, egalitarian structures and barrier free society.

Women in India in the earlier decades of the previous millennium were confined to houses with secondary status in the family. Girls were not sent to schools, female in general were not allowed to participate in social gatherings and women in politics was a rarity. The lack of female participation and the need for women involvement in decision making bodies made to think of initiating a platform for women based organization. To get nine educated and empowered women to form into a registered society in 2018 was a very difficult task and to convince their spouses to allow their wives to be part of the movement for women and environment was a herculean mission.

Butterfly Foundation – Which literally means “People’s Awakening”. It aims at supporting and organizing imitative and innovative services for rural poor, more especially scheduled castes and tribal and marginalized communities for integrated development. It perceives “integrated development as dynamic process of creating sustainable conditions were people can live an independent life, free of any external subjugation. It also proposes to empower people to be self-sufficient through education, medical care, skill development, agricultural, water, health, sanitation, climate change and economic empowerment.

A team of professionally qualified in Doctors, Technical, Social Work, Psychology, Educationists and other fields initiated voluntary services to support NGOs, Community and Individual members. Mainly focusing Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Regions in India.
